ABOUT THE ARTIST

Liam Hipple is an illustrator based in Hampshire in the UK. Liam is best known for his architectural illustrations which cover a broad range of styles and subjects from Cathedral facades to sweeping aerial views of entire cities. Liam’s choice of medium is ink on watercolour paper utilizing crosshatching and bold line work to create his unique and recognizable style. Liam’s working style of traditional draftsmanship with emphasis on perspective and capturing every architectural detail which is then portrayed through the relationship of shadow and light is how he approaches every project.

His unique style and ambitious subject matter such as Piazza Del Duomo, Florence which captures the Cathedral from an aerial view with every architectural detail meticulously rendered initially led to his recognition and success online.

Since then Liam has continued to explore his style and continues to push his style to new levels. Liam has worked with a wide range of clients creating illustrations for the Vatican Postal museum, 1820 Italian Gastronomy society, Capital prints London, Yale University and more recently illustrations for the book Escape From Kabul written by Levison Wood and Geraint Jones, published by Hoddor books.

Currently Liam continues his partnership with Capital Prints London and Yale university creating unique aerial view illustrations of the various collages. Along side this he also peruses his own projects such as the miniature city series and recreating renaissance Italy’s iconic facades most recently the Doge’s Palace in Venice
